A Couple of Lies that the enemy would love for us to believe and live by

These are lies that are like giants in your life…giants that can smother your relationship with the Father. With the Truth in hand, you can defeat these giants that oppress you.

1.   If it feels good, then just do it.

Proverbs 14:11-13

12 There is a way that seems right to a man,
but in the end it leads to death.

1 Peter 4:1-5  Contemporary Version

1 Christ suffered here on earth. Now you must be ready to suffer as he did, because suffering shows that you have stopped sinning.

2 It means you have turned from your own desires and want to obey God for the rest of your life.

3 You have already lived long enough like people who don't know God. You were immoral and followed your evil desires. You went around drinking and partying and carrying on. In fact, you even worshiped disgusting idols.

4 Now your former friends wonder why you have stopped running around with them, and they curse you for it.

5 But they will have to answer to God, who judges the living and the dead.

2. What’s in it for me?

So many people might give their lives to Jesus, but when something goes wrong, they fall away. That’s because people in general have the mindset to only get in involved in something because of what they can get out of it. This is the wrong way to think, and it's a big difference between those that are ‘inward Christians’ and those that are ‘outward Christians.’

Inward Christians are always looking for a blessing saying ‘bless me Lord’ without giving regard to those around them.

Outward Christians reach out to those around them, always looking for ways to bless others. Jesus was constantly looking for someone to bless, heal, deliver and preach the gospel to.
In order to worship God, we must worship in Spirit and Truth:

John 4:23-24

(Jesus speaking)
23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."

I believe that God is raising up a generation of worshipers that will shrug off the religious constraints that keeps His presence from flowing in the ways that He desires.
